Welcome to my profile

Hello, my name is Angélina Borg-Malec, I started playing golf when I was 6 years old.

My goal is to become a professional golfer.

Since I was 14 years old, I have combined sport with studies. I was born and lived in a ski resort, which was not easy to practice golf. I started practicing competitive skating – a much more common sport where I come from – but when I saw golf for the first time, I knew it was « my » sport.

Last year I started attending South Mountain Community College – Phoenix (AZ) – where I will graduate in May 2024. After that, I want to continue my education and go to a university that matches my GPA and play golf in a good NCAA Division 1 or a top Division 2.

In a nutshell

  • European index: 0,5
  • 2023 fall semester: won all the 4 NJCAA tournamets of the fall semester.
  • 2022-23: Ranked 44th in NJCAA National Finals.
  • Summer 2023: first negative score (-1).
  • I have enrolled at South Mountain Junior College – Phoenix (AZ) – in 2022
  • Average GPA: 3,563
  • 2023 fall term GPA: 3,632
  • I have a rock-solid motivation and I can handle high levels of pressure.

A bit more about me

In spite of my dyslexia and dysorthographia I managed to follow a general education curriculum, thanks to a lot of hard work and dedication. When I set myself a goal, I do everything to reach it, I like to challenge myself. I am curious, I like to learn new things and have new experiences. I like planned things. I am organized. I am sociable. I communicate with ease. I overcome difficulties quite easily. I think I learn from my mistakes.

I create and make things with my hands, art interests me, creative art, and I have a passion for aesthetics, fashion and clothes (outfit).

« She told me she really wanted to win and it was exciting to see her competitive fire. She went out and did it, which reflects her personality. Her work ethic during practice is strong and she stays focused. She is all business on the course. »

Some word from my SMCC head coach Allen Ferguson.
